Monday with a Mulcher specialist! Edition 1
We often get asked: Can your Vigolo flail mulchers handle rocky ground?
The short answer is; It is not a rock crusher, but we have taken some precautions in the design of them to ensure they will handle rocky condition the best out of any flail mulcher.
These features include.
- Rotor protection plates: These are a steel plate where the flails come back against the rotor that stops the flails damaging the rotor when the hit back against it. (included on RAPTOR, EAGLE-DT & RAPTOR DT Models)
- Large Diameter Rotors: This give the rotor strength to resist being bent when hitting foreign objects such as rocks.
- Solid Forged Flail Lugs: Don’t get bent out of shape and are very wear resistant.
- Hardox Body Liner: This is a replaceable bolt in wear resistant liner that will ensure the inside of the machine doesn’t wear out in abrasive conditions. (Standard on RAPTOR, EAGLE-DT & RAPTOR DT Models)
- Wide Hardox Skids: These heavy-duty skids are very wear resistant even in stony ground.
When hitting the odd rock, you are always going to get a bit of wear and tear. The flail bolts are generally your give point and in rocky conditions you will break the odd flail and bolt but these are inexpensive easily replaceable parts that protect the critical heart of the mulcher.
So, if you are looking for a mulcher or topper for tough conditions, Vigolo is your ideal option.
