Why do you need a Large Diameter Rotor on your mulcher?
Strength.
The large diameter mulcher rotor gives a lot of extra strength to ensure your rotor doesn’t bend or go out of balance when you lit a foreign object. This is especially important once you go over 2.5m working width.
Momentum.
The big rotor gives a flywheel effect, when as it is up and spinning the momentum powers it through the material relying less on the HP of the Tractor. As a result, it is more fuel efficient, easier to drive and takes a lot of load off the driveline. This is especially noticeable in clumpy material like rushes.
Flail Pattern.
The big rotor also allows for more flails on the rotor, giving a finer chop and more overlap for a smooth level finish. It also allows for the flails to be in a spiral pattern which make the mulcher run smoother and once again is easier to drive.
