At Agriline, we continually refine our Vigolo mulchers to make them perform at their best in New Zealand conditions. One important change we have made to our Vigolo high-body mulchers is removing the rear roller scraper.
Removing the scraper leaves the back of the mulcher completely open, allowing cut material to flow freely out of the machine. This is particularly beneficial when working in heavy grass, dense vegetation, crop residue or other high-volume material.
On many conventional mulchers, the roller scraper can restrict the discharge area. Material may collect around it, reducing flow and increasing the risk of blockages and create unwanted clumps. The open-back design of our Vigolo high-body mulchers gives processed material a clear path out of the machine, helping maintain consistent performance and a cleaner finish.
The scraper is also unnecessary because of the position of the rear roller. Vigolo has designed the roller so the rotating flails continually pass close to it, naturally clearing away material as the mulcher operates. In effect, the flails keep the roller self-cleaning without needing a separate scraper.
The result is a simple and effective setup with several practical advantages:
- Completely open rear discharge area
- Freer flow of grass and mulched material
- Reduced likelihood of material building up around the roller
- Self-cleaning roller positioning
- Fewer unnecessary components
- Consistent performance in demanding conditions
This modification works particularly well with Vigolo’s high-body design, which provides the internal space needed to process large volumes of material efficiently. Rather than restricting the discharge, the mulcher can move material through the body and release it freely behind the machine.
